Developer
The City of Redding is the developer of the Stillwater Business Park. The City designed the project with input from both corporate users and site-location consultants.
The City of Redding understands that “time is of the essence” in today’s site-location process. A Planned Development Plan allows projects to receive a building permit quickly.
The concept surfaced after several companies sought large parcels for development in Redding. Although the Redding area has large tracts of undeveloped land, it was quickly determined that in order to ensure proper zoning, environmental permitting and infrastructure development, most of the available parcels would take considerable time to be at the point where a company could actually begin development.
Therefore, a committee of local business leaders and City Council members sought a site that could be readied for development so companies would not have to face the uncertainty and cost of lengthy development. Stillwater Business Park is the result. Stillwater is truly a “ready-to-go” business park with all of the entitlements in place.
The City of Redding, with significant backing from a community business coalition, has made the project a priority for several years and has committed over $20 million in local funding toward the construction of Phase I of the project.
